Rachel's Challenge Assembly

By Clayton Hakin

Rachel's Challenge is a non-profit organization founded by the father of Rachel Scott, the first victim of the Columbine School Shooting. The assembly was based on the writings of when Rachel was alive including a "Code of Ethics" like paper about attempting to quell school violence, bullying, and suicide. The organization's mission statement is to "motivate, educate, and bring positive change to many young people." In the assembly, students listened and thought about how they could make their school a friendlier place based off of Rachel's ideas.
