Type B. Permanent Protective Operating Shutter Panels shall comply with the following:

May be constructed of metal, plastic, or other suitable materials for use intended.
Shall be either side mounted retractable accordion style, or overhead mounted roll
down style, purpose fabricated for use intended, sized to fit the protected opening.
“Bahama”, “Colonial”, “Slatted Awning” or any other similar type styles are not
permitted.
Devices shall be manufacturer’s standard white or off-white color. Other light pastel
colors such as beige or tan may be considered acceptable. Unfinished materials are
not permitted.
Shutter panels shall be securely anchored in the open position when not in use.
8. All protective devices visible from the exterior of the home shall be of the same style to the
fullest extent practicable. Devices within screened porches may be Type A or B, and may
be installed behind the screened exterior or in front of the doors and windows to the home
from the porch.
9. Panels may be installed and/or shutter panels closed upon official National Weather Service
announcement of a hurricane watch or warning (or similar severe storm event) and shall be
removed or opened no later than 7 days following the storm. Should home occupant not be
occupying home between June 1st and December 1st, occupant shall arrange for another
person or party to comply with this paragraph.
10. Neither the Kings Ridge Community Association, Inc. nor the neighborhood association shall
have or shall assume any responsibility or warranty for the proper installation or adequacy
of the protective devices and modifications to the existing home and site.
