ONLY THE FOLLOWING UNDERSTORY TREES ARE APPROVED FOR KINGS RIDGE
Crape Myrtle, lagerstroemia indica (Height 15-25’ and width 6-15’)
Dogwood, Florida, cornus Florida (Height 25’ and width 25’)
Fringe tree, chionanthus virginicus (Height 12-20’ and width 10-15’)
Holly, Yaupon, ilex vomitoria (Height 15-25’ and width 15-20’)
Redbud, Eastern, cercis canadensis (Height 20-30’ and width 25-35’)
Wax Myrtle, Myrica cerifera (Height 15-20’ and 10-15’)
Walter’s Viburnum Obovaturn (Height 6 - 15 ‘and width 6 – 8’)
a. A minimum of one understory tree may be required on the homeowner’s lot to meet the
City of Clermont requirements. Two palm trees may be substituted for one required
understory tree (per City Ordinance)
b. Replacement understory trees must be in accordance with the City Ordinance: Understory
species shall be a minimum of eight feet in overall height immediately after planting with a
four-foot spread.

OTHER TREES
FRUIT, PALM AND PINE TREES
a. Approval for planting fruit, palm, and pine trees will be on a case by case basis.
b. For restrictions regarding where to plant fruit, palm or pine trees, adhere to
paragraph # 5 b., under General Instructions.
