5. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
a. When removing a tree the roots must be removed and the stump ground down below
ground level. If the tree is not to be replaced, sod or mulch must be used to cover the
area as appropriate.
b. Do not plant closer than 6 (six) feet from the home, no closer that 6 (six) feet from the
side and rear yard property lines, 8 to 10 feet from each other, and 8 feet from any
existing tree. Exception: In yards adjacent to golf course property, trees may be
planted one foot from the property line common with the golf course.
c. When planting a new or replacement tree, prune the bottom branches to a height of 24
to 30 inches above ground to accommodate lawn maintenance.
d. Homeowner shall provide a two foot radius of mulched bed around each tree and
maintain added trees to include: fertilizing, watering, mulching, trimming, and removal
of fallen fruit. Exception: Do not mulch citrus trees.
e. If trees are to be planted in any easement on the property, homeowner shall be
responsible for any damage to the tree due to utility work within the easement and
shall be responsible for any damage to the buried utilities from the tree roots.
f. Homeowner shall immediately remedy any damage to the site and adjacent property
caused by any contractor or worker. Failure to take such action in a timely manner will
be cause for the Association to correct said damage at homeowner’s expense.
g. Neither the Kings Ridge Community Association, Inc. nor the local neighborhood
association shall have or shall assume any responsibility for maintenance of any tree
addition, removal, or any modification to the existing home site.
