Year 8 Girls

Year 8 Boys

On Wednesday 25th June, the majority of Corpus Christi took part in our annual Sports Day. The Year 8 girls did particularly well in their events. Chelsea Parker from St Teilo’s came first in all three of her events including 100m, 200m and Long Jump, which she was awarded the Victrix Ludorem for. Many other girls did well too, St Illtyd’s won the relay closely followed by St Teilo’s. Out of the Year 8 girls, St Patrick won overall with 94.5 points. The other teams did well also. It was a lovely day for all and with the weather shining, everyone had a great time. When it was time for the relay the rest of the school came out to cheer and support their teams. It was a thoroughly enjoyed day by teachers and pupils alike.

Year 8

The annual Corpus Christi Sports Day proved to be another eventful and successful event for the Year 8 boys category especially. The day saw many great performances including Ellis John (100m, 200m and Long Jump), Aaron Ajayi (300m), Will Tovey (800m), Vincent Rees (1500m), Shaun Guerrero (Shot Putt), Samuel Wooding (Discus, Triple Jump), Kieran Law (Javelin) and Chinua Ebereonwu (High Jump), who came first in their events. A special mention to Ellis John, who won the Victor Ludorum, picking up 25 points throughout the day for his house, with a new school record of 11.8 in the 100m. There were close contenders in many events, inclouding the High Jump, in which Chinua Ebereonwu beat Samuel Wooding by count back, as they both achieved a height of 1.45m, as well as the relay, in which just a tenth of a second separated the winners (Illtyds), from the runners up (Cadoc). Overall, St Patrick reigned victorious with a total score of 111.5 points, with St Cadocs coming close with 109.5, whereas St Illtyd finished in third with 95 points with St Teilo finishing fourth with 92 points. It was a great performance from everyone who took part. Well done lads, good luck for next year's sports day.
