Year 7 Boys

The sports day was very competitive for the boys in Year 7. There were many tight races, jumps and throws.

Races

Firstly, the 100m, there was lots of pressure as the rest of the school came to watch the race. It was won by James Mullins who ran 100m in 13.4s. The 200m was won by Simeon Santima (who narrowly lost the 100m by 0.4s) in an impressive 31.2s. After, the 300m was won in a notable time of 54s by Ethan Brown. Next, the 800m was closely contested. With only 1 second in it Olly Brookes recorded a time of 2:49 and George Thomas in a time of 2:48. In the 1500m Michael O’Hanlon won by 28s in a time of 5:35 nearly overtaking the leading Yr. 8. Lastly, in the relay the results were: Illytd-58.9, Patrick-61.3, Cadoc-62.5, 63.6.

Throws

First, Rhys Barkley threw the shot a remarkable 7m 59cm. Then, in the discus Ed Hurst threw it 14m 90cm down the field. The final throw was the javelin. Alex de la Rue won the competition by throwing an amazing 21m.

Jumps

There are only two jumping events, the long jump and the high jump. In the long jump Ethan Brown won his second event by recording 4m 10cm. Also, Alex de la Rue won again but this time in the high jump, he jumped 1m 30cm.

Year 7

The results of Sport Day Year 7 Girls was 1st St. Cadocs, 2nd St. illtyds ,3rd St. Teilos and 4th St. Patrick. The winner of the 100m was Charlotte Copeland and Bobbie Davies with a time of 14.9secs, the winner of the 200m was Sofia Vella with a time of 30.1secs. The winner of the 800m was Sofia Vella with a time of 2.33.24 mins and a new school record! The winner of shot put was Lydia Burton with a throw of 7.99m, the winner of the discus was Joyce Akpotabore with a throw of 20.19m and a new school record! The winner of javelin was Chloe Luff Evans, the winner of long jump was Charlotte Copeland with a jump of 3.74m and the winner of high jump was Sofia Vella with a jump of 1.20m and the relay was won by St Cadocs in a time of 60.1secs! The Victrix Ludorum award is presented every year for the person who had got the most points in the 3 events they have taken part in and this year’s

winner was Sofia Vella.
