Given that we just went over officer nomination , it ’ s only natural that Section 4 covers the actual election !
It starts with a brief overview of the election method and the length of officers ’ terms :
Elected officers shall be elected by ballot and shall assume office at the close of the NJCL Convention at which they are elected . Officers shall serve until the close of the next NJCL Convention when their successors shall assume the duties of office .

Section 4 . A lists the criteria for States getting votes for officer elections .

2 representatives at Nominations Committee meeting AND 10 % of your State delegation at the Candidates ’ Open Forum

1 representative at Nominations Committee meeting OR less than 10 % of your State delegation at Candidates ’ Open Forum
0 Votes :(
No representatives at Nominations Committee meeting OR no representatives at Candidates ’ Open Forum
Additionally , only States that are in good standing can vote , and within those States , the people voting must also be in good standing .
