everyday for defense against bacteria and viruses. My go to oils are lavender, lemon, clove, rosemary, eucalyptus, and cinnamon. Although all these items can add up, once you find everyday uses for them, they are priceless.
Really, moving to and living in Hawai’i was an investment. We are nature and ocean lovers, so it is a blessing to live here. Studies show that a child engaging in free play and nature supports creativity and problem solving, enhances cognitive abilities, reduces stress, increases physical activity and improves eyesight, social relations, and self-discipline. In truth, I have experienced all this with my son. For instance, we mainly go to the beach, and each day we explore, discover, draw, and learn about the earth and nature. We learn about tides, waves, animals, and ecosystems. Simultaneously, we increase our swimming, and diving skills. Sometimes we swim until night and we observe the moon, stars, and planets. We are always making boundaries for him in a safe and nurturing way. Playing, however, helped him learn to make them himself; like how high to climb safely or how deep to go in the water. The self-discipline and motivation Nyah learned with free play has blown me away. No computer, television show, or toy has given him what he has gained by playing in nature. As a family, we bond and have fun together outside daily. In short, free playing in nature is a great investment in child, and adult, development and way of living
As we use what the most high provides in nature, we build intuition in feeding, healing, and teaching our youth. Every choice we make is an investment and it can be our simple everyday lifestyle that lay the foundation in our future.
