Anthony Riccio currently serves as the Academic Counselor and Director of Advisory at the King Abdullah Academy in Herndon , VA . He has developed culturally responsive counseling and advisory programs for a diverse group of international and first-generation students , including alumni-mentoring , internships , and traditional Islamic practices of reflection and retrospection . Dialogue & Community : Building a Culture of Connection as Student Leaders October 29 , 2022 • 12-4pm Eastern • Online Event
Student leaders grades 8-12 are invited to learn about diverse practices for engaging in constructive dialogue . Learn the basics of what dialogue is and is not , forming community norms , empathic listening and candor with kindness , nonviolent communication , neutral reframing , asking powerful questions , storytelling for deep connection , and diverse dialogue methods .

Dialogue & Dignity : How to Build Skills , Bridge Divides , and Heal Communities February 10 , 2023 • 11am-5:30pm Eastern • Online Event
Participants will examine the culture of toxicity and how it creeps into school communities ; explore the concepts of dignity , compassion , and belonging ; mine insights from fields like conflict resolution , indigenous peacemaking , restorative justice , dialogue facilitation , and social psychology ; engage in diverse practices for promoting compassionate awareness and dignified dialogue .
