2012 North Carolina Chinese Writing Contest

During February and March of 2012, CI conducted the 3rd Annual NC Chinese Writing Contest. Ninety-three students from all over North Carolina applied to compete in this contest. This year’ s topic was“ My dream is …”, students were asked to share their China related experiences in a 500-1000 characters essay.
The 93 applicants came from 8 different schools across NC covering 4 different counties, and about half of applicants were non-heritage Chinese learners.
2012 年的 2 月到 3 月间, 北卡州大 孔院举办了第三届北卡罗莱纳州 中文写作比赛 。 来自北卡各地的
93 名学生参与了本次比赛 。 今年 的主题是“ 我的梦想是 …” 。 选 手用 500-1000 字分享了他们对中 国的理解和经验 。 这次参赛的 93 名参赛者来自北卡 4 个县 、 8 个学 校 。 其中大约一半的参赛者无中 国家庭背景 。
SKEMA“ Doing Business in China” Course
For the Spring 2012 semester, CI collaborated with the SKEMA Business School on Centennial Campus to offer a“ Doing Business in China” course. Sixty-six French SKE- MA students took this 15- contact-hour course. During the course, students learned different aspects of doing business in China, including business etiquette, politics, economics, and cultural aspects that impact business success, communication techniques that work, business guanxi. Various successful business professionals also made presentations for the class, sharing their experiences and suggestions in regards to doing business in China. Students were evaluated based on class participation and a final group video project showcasing what they learned in the course.
2012 年春季学期, 北卡州大孔院 为法国 SKEMA 商学院开设了“ 经 商在中国” 的课程 。 六十六个法 国学生选修了这门 15 学时的课 程 。 课程期间, 学生们了解了在 中国开展业务的不同方面, 包括 商务礼仪, 政治 、 经济 、 文化等 方面对企业成功的影响, 有效的

Kicking Off the HSK
On April 14, 2012, Confucius Institute at NC State administered the HSK examination for the first time since officially becoming a testing center in 2010. Hanban adjusted HSK regulations in early 2012 to allow online testing, which made administering the exam easier. Four Chinese enthusiasts from North Carolina signed up to take the HSK.

时掌握每位考生的考试情况及答 题进度 。
北卡州大孔子学院早在 2010 年就 获得海外汉语考试中心的资格, 网络考试的推出解决了以往因一 个级别人数不足而无法开考的难 题 。 此次 HSK 网络考试得到国家 汉办考试处 、 汉语网络考试中心 的大力支持 。 首次 HSK 网络考试 的成功举办, 见证北卡州立大学 孔子学院发展史上新的里程碑 。 相信随着学生学习汉语热情的高 涨, 更多学生希望到中国留学和 工作, 今后定会有越来越多考生 参加汉语水平考试 。
