Saint Augustine’ s Community College Confucius Classroom Opening
On August 25, representatives of the Confucius Institute at NC State and the Secretaries of Education Section of the Chinese Embassy attended the long awaited Grand Opening of Saint Augustine’ s Community College
( SAC) Confucius Classroom.
During the grand opening event, Dr. Dianne Boardley Suber and Dr. Li Bailian, the Vice Provost for International Affairs at NCSU, signed the agreement and unveiled the wall plaque to congratulate the incorporation of Chinese language and Chinese culture in St. Augustine’ s Community College.

Start of Confucius Institute Classes, Fall 2011 孔子学院秋季学期开课
For the Fall 2011 semester, we had 106 students studying Chinese language and culture at our CI. We taught 75 NC State students for-credit Chinese Lab class. This year we added a lunchtime Chinese class for NC State faculty and staff, we had 14 students. They learned simple phrases in Chinese to help when interacting with their Chinese
students and staff.
子学院继续为北卡州大学生提供 学分课, 并面向社会提供非学分 的汉语语言课程及中国文化课 。 其中在校生人数 75 人, 社会各 界人士 106 人 。 本学期孔院开设
