MATE
Mates are responsible for assisting the Captain with the navigation and safety of the vessel, crew, and passengers. Mates lead the Deck Department by supervising, coordinating, and training Deckhands in their daily responsibilities. The Mate must have the ability to get along with our well-educated and affluent passengers and represent the company in a professional manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure the safety of the guests, crew, and vessel.
Supervise and train all Deckhands.
Ensure vessel is maintained in safe operating condition. MAIN REQUIREMENTS
U. S. Coast Guard Master’ s License: minimum 100 GRT with Near Coastal endorsement; 1,600 GRT preferred.
