MATES
Mates are responsible for assisting the Captain with the navigation and safety of the vessel, crew, and passengers. Mates lead the deck department by supervising, coordinating, and training Deckhands in their daily responsibilities. The Mate must have the ability to get along with our well-educated and affluent passengers and represent the company in a professional manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure the safety of the guests, crew, and vessel.
Supervise and train all Deckhands.
Ensure vessel is maintained in safe operating condition.
MAIN REQUIREMENTS
U. S. Coast Guard Master’ s License: minimum 100T, desired license 1600T.
THIRD MATES
Third Mates are entry-level shipboard officers reporting directly to the Mate. Third Mates are responsible for safe vessel and launch operations, adherence to company and regulatory standards, and representing the company as a professional leader and example.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Execute safe, secure, clean, and comfortable onboard environment for passengers and crew.
Ensure safe launch operations, adhering to company and regulatory standards.
Provide comprehensive daily inspection of all vessel interior and exterior spaces.
Stand helm, and provide security and gangway watches in Deckhand rotation.
Provide standing piloting watches under instruction of Captain or Mate.
Assist Engine Room Attendant with machinery and system maintenance.
Administrate documentation of launch operations, cleaning, and maintenance.
