RIVER PILOT
River Pilots are experienced senior watch officers responsible for the safe navigation and operation of American Cruise Lines vessels. They take an active role on the bridge, overseeing navigation, piloting, docking, and maneuvering while making critical decisions to ensure the safety of guests, crew, and vessel. River Pilots use their firsthand knowledge of river waterways to anticipate risks and navigate challenging conditions. This position is ideal for experienced mariners looking to apply their piloting expertise while continuing to grow their careers with American Cruise Lines.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Safely navigate vessels along rivers, inland waterways, and coastal routes.
Ensure the safety of guests, crew, and vessel at all times.
Monitor weather, water conditions, and vessel traffic.
Lead and coordinate the onboard deck crew.
Respond confidently to changing conditions and emergencies. MAIN REQUIREMENTS
U. S. Coast Guard Master’ s license: minimum 100 GRT with Near Coastal endorsement; 1,600 GRT or greater preferred.
