CAPTAINS
SAFETY IS OUR PRIORITY
We hire and train for skill , judgment , and operational discipline . American Cruise Lines is the only U . S . passenger vessel line that offers training at our own state-of-the-art bridge simulator . Classroom and simulator training is conducted annually using real world scenarios for all deck officers . The goal of each program is to promote consistency and safety on our ships .
The Captain is the senior officer aboard the ship . Captains are responsible for the safe navigation of the vessel and must uphold all company standards . This is a dynamic position that requires professionalism , experience , and leadership . This position is ideal for experienced / retired Naval or Coast Guard officers with command experience .
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure the safety of the guests , crew , and vessel .
Perform all docking , undocking , maneuvering , and navigation of vessel .
Supervise , train , and direct Mates and Deckhands .
MAIN REQUIREMENTS

U . S . Coast Guard Master ’ s License : Minimum 100T , desired 1600T or greater .
