Around Town Highways
Two Highways run through the Borough . Route 4 connects Fair Lawn with New York City via the George Washington Bridge and State Highway 208 originates in Fair Lawn and passes through Hawthorne in Passaic County and continues to Route 287 in Oakland . Connections to the Garden State Parkway , running north and south , and Route I-80 , running east and west , are just a short distance from Fair Lawn and Route 17 is accessible from Route 4 traveling east toward New York City .
