NEW | Climate Change and the Global Order
Climate change has become one of the defining issues of our
time. As much of the world bands together to come up with a
plan, the U.S. remains the notable holdout. What is the rest of
the world doing to combat climate change? What impact will
the effects of climate change have on global geopolitics?
These questions and much more will be discussed. Class
held at Margaret Place Senior Apartments in Coon Rapids.

Israel and the Middle East-The Challenge of Peace
Have you often wondered why peace between Israelis and
Palestinians has remained so elusive? This multimedia program,
presented by a volunteer from the Jewish Community Relations
Council, will outline key facts of history and geography along with
the challenges that Israelis and Palestinians face in trying to reach
reconciliation. Gain context for a story that, despite the distance
from Minnesota, matters to all who long for peace. Class fee: $10.

NEW | Understanding Your Muslim Neighbor
If you are looking to gain a better understanding about
your Muslim neighbors, this class is for you. You will have
opportunities to interact with Muslims and ask them questions
regarding Islam. The first night focuses on Muslims’ belief
system and the second night addresses the deeper and more
controversial topics such as, “Women in Islam,” or “Islamic
Views of Social Justice.” Class fee: $10.

NEW | Spanish for Beginners
Learning Spanish enables you to communicate with Spanish
speakers in your community, at work, or when traveling. This is
a beginner’s class that explores both the language and culture,
and focuses on pronunciation, reading comprehension, basic
grammar and speaking skills. Those with minimal Spanish
knowledge can also join in to review and practice. Class fee
includes textbook used in class. Instructor is a native speaker.
