Hollywood History-Monster Movies of the
40s and 50s
Calling all movie and film buffs! Monster movies came roaring
back to movie screens in the 1940s and ‘50s with some of the
greatest monsters yet: the Wolfman, the Creature from the Black
Lagoon, Godzil-la, and more. North Metro TV Studio Manager,
Eric Houston, will provide a lecture along with rare photographs
and tons of terrific film clips. Class held at North Metro TV
Station in Blaine. Class fee: $10.

Laughter Yoga
Laughter Yoga is a complete well-being workout without a mat!
With special guided techniques, anyone can laugh without
relying on jokes and feel the benefits immediately. We initiate
laughter with child-like playfulness, which soon turns into real,
contagious laughter. It combines deep breathing exercises from
yoga with laughter, thereby oxygenating your body and brain to
help you to feel more happy, healthy and energetic. Participants
should wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Suitable for any
age and most physical conditions. Class fee: $19 one; $25 two.

Do you have a dog that is well socialized and enjoys people? In
this introductory session, learn what it takes to train and register
your dog to visit schools, hospitals, nursing homes, hospice, and
more. Learn about the top three national therapy dog groups
and tips for training and registering your dog for therapy work
in the community. Please leave your dog at home for this class.

Make a Difference
Feel good about making a difference! Learn about volunteer
opportunities in Anoka County serving children, adults, seniors,
groups and/or families. Many short-term and long-term
opportunities are available. Handouts provided. Presented by
Anoka County Volunteer Alliance (ACVA). Although this is a free
class, pre-registration is required.

fiction, or short-short, fiction is a complete story told in a few
words, typically 1,500 or less. It has characters, action, conflict-
but condensed. Come read, write, and learn about this form of
fiction and the booming market for this work. Class fee: $39.
Anastasia at the Orpheum Theatre
The romantic and adventure-filled new musical, “Anastasia” is
here in Minneapolis, at last! This dazzling show will transport you
from the twilight of the Russian Empire to the euphoria of Paris
in the 1920s, as a brave young woman sets out on a journey to
discover the mystery of her past. Tickets for the performance
and parking information will be mailed prior to the event.
