Fairy Gardening The Art of Bonsai
Fairy gardening is such a fun and easy way to add a touch of
whimsy to any indoor or outdoor space. Join us in creating an
indoor fairy garden using a container, soil, miniature plants and
accessories. Learn how to care for and prune your garden to
keep your plants small. Bring pruners and garden gloves. Class
held at Mickman Brothers Garden Center in Ham Lake. Supply
fee of $25 plus tax paid at class (note when registering if you will
create one or two). Class fee: $19. Explore the ancient art of bonsai – your own tree in miniature.
This hands-on course will take away the mystique and show
you how to create, maintain and shape your own tree. You’ll be
guided through the creation of your own bonsai tree in class.
Instructor, Lionel Flood is the past president of the Minnesota
Bonsai Society. Supply fee of $40 paid to instructor at class.

Herbs In the Garden and Kitchen
Learn to grow, preserve and use fresh herbs in your home
cooking. Taste herbs in class and discover how they are used to
“spice up” everyday or special dishes. As your herbs continue
to grow in your garden and pots, learn various techniques for
preserving herbs for winter use including techniques for how to
set up an indoor herb garden. No cooking in class. Instructor
Mary Tessman is with the University of Minnesota Extension
Services Master Gardeners. Class on April 30 will be held at
Estates of Arbor Oaks in Andover. Class fee: $25.

Learn the basic principles of houseplant care including watering,

NEW | The Art of Bonsai II
This is a follow-up class for students who previously participated
in The Art of Bonsai. This class will assist you in removing
the wire from your tree and direct you in placing new wire
and shaping branches. Bring your bonsai. No repotting or
transplanting during this class. Tools will be available for use
and wire for sale. Class fee: $55.

Love Your Lawn Fertilization, Pest Prevention
and Planting
Learn how to make your lawn outshine others. Join instructor
and industry expert, Tom Tidrick, in this informative class that
