Communication December 2025 (clone) | Page 5

Guy served as the inaugural Chair of the OMM department at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, Assistant Dean of Clinical Education at UNE COM, Associate Dean of Clin Ed at UNE and since 2016 he has been Senior Associate Dean. He has served our profession at every level - the Board of Governors of the Maine Osteopathic Association; Board of Trustees of the Association of Osteopathic Program Directors and Medical Educators; President of the American Academy of Osteopathy; Chair of the inaugural Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine Program review committee for the ACGME. Throughout all his service Guy has maintained his optimistic outlook, sense of humor, and ability to make you laugh, usually at yourself.

Personally, I am really feeling this loss. Guy and I have worked together in some capacity for 42 years- from being classmates, where I sat behind or beside him so the teacher couldn't see me; to doing our internship together at Waterville Osteopathic Hospital; to working here at UNE. I have learned from him and with him. Since becoming Dean, I have relied on Guy to push back when I was headed in the wrong direction, push me forward when I was dragging my feet, and always make me laugh. UNE COM wouldn't be where we are today without him.

We wish Guy and Carlin much luck and happiness in their next adventure!

Happy New Year and all my best to each of you!
