PURPOSE Statement
RIBC is a nonprofit community blood center that aims to ensure a safe and plentiful blood supply to the patients and hospitals we serve , while providing the best experience for our donors .
Background Keeping the blood supply going is a cooperative endeavor among volunteer blood donors and RIBC . Together we have been helping to save local patients for more than forty years .
Brag Lines Provides blood to approximately fifty hospitals throughout New England . RIBC has a state-of-the-art laboratory right at our Providence location . We also provide therapeutic treatments for patients in local hospitals .
Pay it Forward Lifesaving blood donations must be available at all times to ensure healthcare workers can help heal the patients they care for at local hospitals .

Mission Statement
The Alzheimer ’ s Association leads the way to end Alzheimer ’ s and all other dementia — by accelerating global research , driving risk reduction and early detection , and maximizing quality care and support .
Background As the world ’ s leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer ’ s care , support and research , we are committed to serving the 27,000 people living with Alzheimer ’ s in Rhode Island . We also offer care and support services for more than 36,000 family and friends across the state who are caring for someone with Alzheimer ’ s or another dementia .
Brag lines In 2023 Rhode Islanders raised over $ 656,000 to support research and care and support programs by supporting our five Walk to End Alzheimer ’ s events across the state .
There was over $ 1.5 million in active research funding awarded to RI researchers through our International Research Grants Program .
Our 24 / 7 Helpline fielded over 957 calls from Rhode Islanders , providing callers with guidance , support and access to local resources .
