Students at Cal State San Bernardino will have a chance to win $400 in gifts and prizes during the month of May by making a pledge to go green and participating in the #CoyotesGoGreen social media challenge.

The social media challenge will be held May 1-31. Those competing in the challenge will have the option of choosing either one of the three major social media platforms: Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.

In order to compete, students must participate in the daily challenges set for the month of May. Such challenges include switching from disposable water bottles to re-usable ones, doing laundry during off-peak hours and using power-generating machines at the CSUSB recreational center.

The challenge asks the students to post pictures of friends and themselves accomplishing the daily challenges in the competition. The idea behind the challenge is that the students can use their creativity and discretion in how they wish to illustrate their accomplishments of the daily task.

Winners of the challenge will be determined on who successfully posts the most pictures of themselves accomplishing a daily goal throughout the month; the more goals achieved the more likely they can win the grand prize. Also, a winner will also be chosen based on the most creative post and who proves to save the most energy.

Prizes of the competition will include a grand prize of a $100 VISA gift card to the winner of the most posts; the second prize will a $50 VISA gift card and there will be several other weekly prizes such as movie tickets and Starbucks gift cards.
