Let’s talk about South African music, what form/s of music exists in South Africa? TOYA: There are many genres growing at the moment which is hella exciting. People like Maskandi, Amapiano, Afrorave, Hip Hop, Ggom, Afrikaans, House, Dubstep House. Where does your music fit in South African music? TOYA: My music is a blend of electronic and Zulu or English at times -… and people dig it, that’s how it fits in lol How has your journey been as a music artist? TOYA: It’s been a lot of work and lessons a real climb but beautiful I have grown so much along this journey. Who are you top 10 African music artistes? TOYA: Leave us alone - stop abusing people who have done nothing to you - homophobia is stupid AF and a sign that you haven’t ascended to your higher self as an African spirit, you haven’t truly emancipated yourself from mental slavery.
