About: Guiping Li, Shandong Province, mother of a son and a daughter who are left behind
One day during the Spring Festival my daughter
found the camera and eagerly said to me: “Mom,
can you take some pictures of me?“ But I was
busy with housework so I just took a few photos.
Now when I look back, I think it would have
been so good to spend more time with them
and take more pictures.
This is my little son who is 6 years old.
Whenever I come home, his favorite thing is
to be glued to me: wherever I go, he follows.
Although he initially didn’t want his photo
taken, he finally agreed when his sister told him
that this way I can see them everyday when I’m
not at home. At that moment, I felt so pleased
but also sad!
During the Spring Festival, we took our children to the county’s amusement park. They were so happy
and enjoyed the carousel and playing with water guns most. But every time the moment came to go
home, they were reluctant to leave. When we finally did leave, my little son cried. If I had enough time, I
would take them out to play every day!
We don’t need beautiful photos, just real-life experiences!
