“In terms of what I originally wanted to gain from my visit, my English skills have vastly improved. I’ve learned a lot about the English culture both in and out of work and it is quite similar to Germany’s, the English breakfasts are a lot better here though.”
I also asked Tristan how we compared to company he works for in Germany, to which he responded; “I prefer the size of this company to the one I work at back home. At my German workplace there are about 1200 people and it is hard to remember everyone, here you get to know everyone’s name and it is much more personal.”
“You are better at seeing a project through from beginning to end, compared to our approach of undertaking several tasks all at the same time. When asked how Tristan thought we could improve he replied; “you do not clean as you go in comparison to the strict routines in Germany.”
Based on this successful visit, DRTCS now has a stronger connection with Vision West Notts and Danny has said that he likes the idea of sending apprentices to our other divisions as part of their learning.
