mAJOR PROJECT -

Nigel fredericks

Meat manufacturer Nigel Fredericks have gone through massive growth in a short period of time, going from 2 medium sized industrial units to 5. Each of these is to become a dedicated production facility. After successfully converting Unit B3 into a packing / distribution area, they have returned to us asking for another bespoke panel build, this time for producing Halal products (Unit B5).

The insulated panel building will be constructed inside an existing warehouse unit, with an external lorry loading dock attached as an extension to this warehouse. The building will be operating at a variety of temperatures from ambient to +5°C.

All the wall panels will sit in a concrete filled stainless steel kerb, the ceilings supported off the existing steel frame. There will be stainless steel gully drains installed and the floor will be finished with Kemtile Kagetec ceramic tiles.

When Sales Director David Quinn asked why DRTCS? The MD liked the concept of dealing with one ‘stable’ company, who could provide a total turnkey project from design to installation and ongoing maintenance. The ability to acquire the facilities over a five year term via a Rent-to-Buy scheme was also a factor (rather than huge capital outlay); outlay that he could now spend on expensive internal machinery.

The benefit of this project for the customer is that it frees up valuable floor area within the other individual production units that is normally used for the storage of finished product. They can simply bulk move the product into Unit B3 where it can be packaged, sorted and loaded onto the differing delivery vehicles who have dedicated routes. This circa additional 1000 sqm will make the whole distribution process more streamlined and efficient and allow them to grow into it, with B6 pressing on and the re-furbishment of B1 to follow after that.
