In addition to highlighting some of the cross-curricular work done in the classroom, the magazine also presents some of the projects students have worked on in the shop classes. In our automotive class, students have learned a variety of automotive skills and performed automotive and repair services for Oxford school vehicles and equipment. In the carpentry shop, students have also been involved in a variety of projects that have helped the schools and the general community. The shop classes provide students with the unique opportunity to develop job skills while also helping the Oxford community .

This magazine also displays some of the work of one of our students who took an art class over at Oxford High School. This student, like many students at COFFEE, has focused on developing her college and career ready skills. In order to encourage this type of mindset, COFFEE students have had the opportunity to earn a variety of "Merit Trips" throughout the school year. These trips have served a dual purpose; they reward students who consistently display the qualities in the classroom that are deemed necessary for success in the academic and/or career world, while also providing some fun and interactive learning experiences. Merit trips are also covered in this edition. So, feel free to browse and find out a little about what's brewing at COFFEE !
