THIS

summer, Brad and I took a few days to complete the Chattahoochee BDR-X, a 350-mile loop that features the best dual-sport and adventure riding in the North Georgia mountains. During this route, we crisscrossed the Appalachian Trail, tackled rugged climbs, carved twisty pavement, and splashed through numerous creek crossings. The route also brings you through the mountain towns of Helen, Ellijay, Dillard, and Suches. There are multiple places to stay along the route and many places to explore off the bike. I will include the BDR-X website( from which some of
this verbiage was borrowed) at the end of the article for details of the complete route.
I am going to share my experience and why I recommend it. I love to camp and hike. As a motorcyclist, I also enjoy riding bikes. Riding an ADV bike is the best of both worlds. This route takes you down curvy back roads, gives you opportunities to hike to waterfalls, lookout towers, and parts of the Appalachian Trail. If you are extremely adventurous, you can camp right off the trail by your bike. On the gravel roads, you are surrounded by God’ s beauty. Many of the dirt roads are along a
