creek or river. You can stop, take pictures, hike, fish, pray, or be still and know God.
I also recommend this ride for females. I was the only female I saw on the trail at that time, and the only female at Two Wheels of Suches who was riding an adventure bike. I am riding a Super Tenere( 1200) on the trails right now. This is a heavy bike for some of the terrain, which made me feel accomplished after conquering it. Everyone we met along the way was super encouraging and gave me props. Most of the riders were on 650cc or smaller motorcycles.
The Chattahoochee BDR-X is broken down into three sections. Brad and I did one section earlier in the year and then worked on the other two during this trip. These routes are designed to take you through rural small-town
America. They encourage the support of locally run businesses. We made sure to stop at as many spots as we could to engage with the locals and share what we do. We stayed at Two Wheels of Suches for two nights and worked on sections one and two from there. We had the opportunity to pray with people, share the ministry with folks, and enjoy time and good food with each other. We also met some CMA’ ers from Ohio( shout out to Dave and Jen Valentine) while at Suches and ran into CJ Low from the Elijay chapter in Dahlonega when we rode in for ice cream! It was truly encouraging to see CMA’ ers out there changing the world, one heart at a time.
If you aren’ t interested in the entire route, I suggest focusing on a few highlights. Check out Bell
Mountain Overlook, then to Cooper’ s Creek Rd, and onto Tray Mountain Rd. This is a fun dirt road that crosses the Appalachian Trail. Stopping at Brasstown Bald Summit and Observation Tower, and Cooper’ s Creek Store for their famous Chicago Dog is a must. Take Owltown Rd, continuing until the end, and then turn left onto Mulky Gap Rd. This road will turn into a gravel road that takes you through great fishing, hiking, and camping along Mulky Creek and Corbin Creek.( Mulky Gap will turn into Coopers Creek Rd Fannin). Be sure to check out the Swinging Bridge and Two Wheels of Suches, both within 10 miles of Cooper’ s Creek Store. CMA
