The Modular Vent
In January 2025, Glazpart added the re-designed Modular Vent to its trickle vent range. Developed for PVC-u vertical sliders, the Modular Vent is fully compliant with regulations has high performance and is available in a wide range of colours and finishes- ideal for heritage windows, especially vertical slider options.
The Modular Ventilator meets the ventilation requirements in accordance with the Building Regulations 2000: Part F: Approved Document F1 October 2010 and Scottish Building Regulations October 2011 Standard.
The product has undergone a radical re-design to improve the performance and aesthetics of the product and to bring it in line with the latest regulatory changes.
The product is specifically designed for“ Through Profile” PVC-u applications using a 19mm routed slot. All ventilators are“ Clip” fixed with the advantage of rapid fitting to profiles.
The unique feature of the modular vent is the potential to assemble the ventilation EQA needed by clipping the modules together before fitting to the windows. The provides different combinations where each module delivers 2000 EQA, 2 gives 4,000 EQA, 3 gives 6,000 EQA and so on. This installation, then leaves just the need for 2 end caps per set.
The product is specifically designed for“ Through Profile” PVC-u applications using a 19mm routed slot. All ventilators are“ Clip” fixed with the advantage of rapid fitting to profiles. The Modular Vent has 2000 EQA and has the unique feature of being able to achieve the ventilation EQA by clipping the modules( vents) together before fitting the windows.
The Modular Vent is one of the shortest trickle vents in the market but is also the highest performing trickle vent for watertightness at 1000 Pa and with a Spring Clip fitting( no screws) it also saves time when installing.
The Modular Vent consists of an internal unit with adjustable closures to regulate incoming air flow and a choice of external protective screens.
Internal ventilator
Based on a modular concept, the base module carries a male and female dovetail on opposite ends. This allows them to be quickly joined to give the required equivalent area. Complimentary end caps are then fitted to complete the assembly. Product is of course available assembled to customers’ requirements.
The modules carry a moulded pair of spring clips that enable them to be firmly snapped into the routed slot in the profile. This has obvious cost savings when compared with“ Screw Fitting” alternatives.
The unique patented closure action gives two intermediate opening positions as well as“ Closed” and“ Fully Open” options.
External canopy The Modular Vent’ s, snap fitting features and footprint, are common between internal and external units.
External( Flat) Grille
Alternative exterior units are available in the form of a Flat Grille designed primarily for installation in a near horizontal plane. This can be used if required for over frame applications and if protected by a profile shroud protecting the external Flat Grille face.
Maintaining a Traditional Look
The huge choice of colours and decorative finishes makes Glazpart’ s trickle vents perfect for fenestration in heritage buildings. These include:
