Field – Initial Visit     FIELD – INITIAL VISIT CHECK-OFF LIST (cont.) Begin initial preparation.  Remove doors.  Block contents.  Clear affected areas. Extract water. Pull pad and/or carpet if necessary. Take a pad sample to match existing pad if needed. Leave two carpet samples (if carpet is removed) – one from the damaged area and one for value purposes. Start equipment at beginning of visit to identify any power deficiencies. Position cords and hoses out of the way. This is an important piece to remember. There should be no cords across doorways or in the path of traffic. Safety first. Pick up all tools and supplies. Vacuum and clean all work areas, clean any standing water, and take out trash. Take 3-5 pictures of affected areas after drying equipment is in place. Scope job and record equipment used. Do your own walk-through before you do one with the customer. Schedule next appointment and give your business card and magnet to the customer.  Never leave your equipment without scheduling the next appointment.  If you can’t find a convenient time, ask customer if a lock box is acceptable. Do a final walk-through with the customer. Explain the process in terms the customer can understand. Don’t WOW them with technical jargon. © 2013 More Floods, Inc. 1-866-667-3356 www.MoreFloods.com 2
