The day capped off with two sessions of Round Tables . The first featured Round Tables between shippers and carriers . This 75-minute session allowed shippers looking for carriers in specific verticals to get face-to-face with carriers interested in servicing them . Carriers learned what shippers were looking for and where they could provide services .
Next , there were two 30-minute Carrier Round Tables . During these sessions , carriers were able to discuss issues they had in common , speak about their challenges and learn from others about solutions they had developed .
An 80s Party for the Ages
Lucky party goers were whisked back to the 1980s at the Grand Reception . It was a fitting end to a day crammed with new business opportunities , networking and education . Among the attendees were Back to the Future ’ s Dr . Emmett Brown ( aka John Benko ); Slash from Guns and Roses ( aka Tom Jowers ) and 80s fitness guru Richard Simmons ( aka Steve Howard ). Those decked out in neon colors , big hair , parachute pants , leg warmers and spandex danced the night away to the sounds of 80 ’ s cover band , 80 ’ s Station . The bodacious blow-out was sponsored by World Parcel Alliance .

The final day of the conference kicked off with a networking breakfast and visits to exhibitors . Conference participants were then able to choose between two tracks :
• Supply Chain Challenges and Disruptions- “ A Deeper Dive ” Moderated by Chuck Moyer , President of Task4Pros North America , this interactive session looked at the industry through the eyes of attorneys , a technology provider , a supply chain warehouse veteran and a professional involved in background checks . The panel includes two attorneys from Scopelitis Garvin Light Hanson & Feary , Steve Pletcher and David Robinson ; eTrac Technologies CEO Charles Pearson , Cory
Weiekel , Co-Founder / CEO Supply Chain Warehouses and Joi Schurman , Director of Operations at Confirm Choice . They took a deep dive into some of the challenges facing supply chain companies in today ’ s environment . Panelists emphasized the importance of developing a comprehensive compliance program and navigating state-specific offerings . They pointed out trends such as offshoring and the gig economy . Weiekel discussed the challenges facing logistics companies in negotiating lease renewals , citing the current state of the tight commercial real estate market . The session was sponsored by Openforce .
