Advocacy Luncheon Featuring Representative Virginia Foxx
Then , for the first time , all conference participants were invited to the Advocacy Luncheon . Hosted by Rich Meade , Chairman of Prime Policy Group , the event featured an update of CLDA ’ s ongoing advocacy efforts . Attendees heard remarks by Representative Virginia Foxx , the U . S . representative from North Carolina ’ s 5th congressional district . Rep . Foxx is the Chairwoman of the US House Committee on Education and the Workforce , which has jurisdiction over independent contractor issues . Her remarks about the challenges our industry faces and her personal affiliation for those who rely on independent contractors struck a chord with those who attended .
A Jam-Packed Afternoon
The afternoon included programs on AI , social media , diversity and inclusion .
• Embracing AI : Low Barrier Solutions for High Impact Results was a short , interactive program featuring remarks by Blythe Brumleve of Digital Dispatch . She outlined easy-to-implement AI tools that could help attendees streamline their businesses .
• Community Is the New Company Culture focused on how companies could leverage social media and technology to integrate “ community ” into their existing culture from Truck N Hustle ’ s Rahmel Wattley .
• Navigating Diversity : Insights from Industry Leaders in HR was a panel of those who have seen the advantage of attracting and retaining a diverse workforce . Moderated by Pete Punwani of Global Executive Solutions Group , the panel included Roslyn Ellerbee of Express Errands & Courier , Brandon Kitchen of Wingmate and Brian Jungeberg of Risk Strategies .
• Revolutionizing Logistics : AI Unleashed continued the discussion about AI , focusing on some of the cutting-edge uses in logistics . It covered such topics as optimizing routes and enhancing delivery efficiency to predictive maintenance and driver safety , to transforming emails to orders .
