As you know , my goal as president of the ECA and a longtime member of both organizations was to continue to forge strategic partnerships . We see a lot of value in working together with the CLDA and supporting this association ’ s Advocacy Fund .” He invited all at the Final Mile Forum to join them for their annual event from April 8 to 10 in Orlando , FL .
The Business Meeting concluded with the induction of industry veteran Chuck Moyer , President of Task4Pros into the CLDA Hall of Fame . “ When I was asked to present this award for the CLDA Hall of Fame , I was really excited about the opportunity to introduce this man ,” said Pinsky . “ He ’ s an individual who has gone above and beyond for years for the CLDA and continues to volunteer his time . I ’ m personally grateful for the knowledge that he passed along to me . In light of his professional past involvement and his continuing willingness to serve with the CLDA , let ’ s welcome this year ’ s Hall of Fame winner , Chuck Moyer .”
A surprised Moyer took the stage for a heartfelt acceptance , saying , “ This was unexpected . Thank you . The CLDA has been important to me since I started back
in late 80s . It ’ s been instrumental in my career . The friendships I ’ ve made through it have lasted a lifetime . I ’ m very honored and very blessed to have this association , my family and friends in my life . Thank you very much !” ( For more about the 2024 Hall of Fame honoree , see page 52 in this issue ).
The Business Meeting concluded with an open invitation for all conference attendees to attend the Advocacy Lunch featuring US Representative Virginia Foxx , the chair of the House Committee on Education and Workforce .
Navigating Supply Chain Disruptions
The educational part of the conference kicked off with a keynote presentation that featured a blizzard of information and enthusiasm for the industry from industry guru James A . Tompkins , PhD . Always a conference favorite , Tompkins didn ’ t disappoint .
Tompkins discussed the current state of supply chain and logistics , highlighting challenges and trends in a globalized world . He emphasized the importance of recognizing past mistakes and taking a new path forward . He shared insights on the impact of global conflicts , inflation , and interest rates on supply chain management . Tompkins ’ keynote presentation also covered the increasing adoption of automation and AI , and the need for adaptability and flexibility in supply chain management . Additionally , he explored the impact of inflation and disruption on business , and the importance of proactive innovation to remain competitive . Finally , he presented his thoughts about the importance of hybrid work models for innovation and success in today ’ s fast-paced business environment .
