BILINGUAL TEACHING ASSISTANT TRAINING PROGRAM Location: Sonia Gutierrez Campus
The Career Training programs at Carlos Rosario School are aimed to help English language learners earn entry-level certifications in high-wage, high-demand sectors in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
Students complete classroom instruction and hands-on work in small cohorts guided by industry professionals. Upon graduation, students receive industry-recognized certifications to strengthen their candidacy for entry-level jobs with family-sustaining wages in high-demand industries. Program supports include internship opportunities, post-secondary education advising, and employability skills coaching.
BILINGUAL TEACHING ASSISTANT TRAINING PROGRAM Location: Sonia Gutierrez Campus
Time: Monday- Friday 9:00 am- 11:30 am
Through this 5-month program, advanced English language learners( ESL level 8 or higher) are prepared to become certified teaching assistants as an entry into a career in education. Our bilingual teaching assistants typically gain employment in DC schools working with a classroom teacher to support instruction, especially for students whose first language is not English.
Requirements: Eligible for ESL 8( high intermediate or higher) High school diploma or equivalent Demonstrate intermediate or advanced proficiency in a language other than English. Proficiency in Math and Reading by passing a diagnostic test Criminal background check and proof of COVID-19 vaccine Advising session
Practicum: 40 + hours practicum experience at K-12 school
Certification Earned Parapro Certification and Seal of Biliteracy
