Citizenship Requirements and Process
To be eligible for citizenship, most individuals must:
Be at least 18 years of age Have lawful permanent residence for at least 5 years, or at least 3 years and be married to and living with U. S. citizen spouse, or have qualifying U. S. military service
Have Good Moral Character Have continuous residence and physical presence in the United States
Demonstrate the ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language and knowledge of U. S. history and government( civics)( with limited exceptions *)
Have Attachment to the United States.
