Ron Robinson, City Council Candidate
A) Name, Age, Occupation, Address
Ron Robinson, age 63, 1101 Ball Street, Farmer and Owner of RWR Trucking
B) Why do you feel you are the most qualified candidate to fill the open
council seat?
I have chosen to run for city council because now that I live in town, I see several items that need attention within our community. I see so many other small
towns promoting their communities and citizens working together to make their
communities grow. I would like to see Clarence become a community we all
can be proud of and one that encourages new business, as well as encourage
families to move to.
C) Do you have any specific issues you feel need to be addressed in our
community?
One of the current problems I would like to improve is our streets and our rain
water outlets. I believe we need to put in place and follow through with a plan
to replace water outlets with larger ones to accommodate heavy rain waters, so
our citizens don't have to worry as much about flooding basements. I would also like to
see a schedule to eventually get all streets resurfaced.

to pursue new
businesses and
help our
community grow
again.”
What are your positions on current community projects, such as the library building project, downtown beautification and promotion of new business in Clarence? How will you, as a councilperson, assist in promoting these projects?
While I personally do not use our local library, I admire those who have been working so
hard to raise money to build a new one. However, one thing I do not favor is using tax
dollars to do so. If I remember correctly, when the Library group first met with the current council, they simply wanted the endorsement of the council, but stated they would
raise all the money through fundraisers and grants. I feel it should remain that way.
Adding more tax costs to the community could create unfair financial hardships for
many.
I am very interested in creating an atmosphere that encourages new business. We have
lost so many good businesses in town in recent years, the latest being the River Valley
grain silos. While some in town may be glad to get rid of the grain dust created by the
business, I am sure the tax dollars and jobs that lea ?H?]H?[[?[?H?[???[??HZ\??Y\??[?H[???H?YY?\??YH?]??\?[?\??\?[?[?\???[][?]B????Y?Z[????????X]]Y?X?][?\??X]?]H??[Z?H??YH?\?Y[?X[?X]]Y?X?][??]?\?[?H?YY???][????Y[?XZ?[???\??]H?X[?[??[Z?\?]?X??]??[Z[Y\?[??\?]??Z?H?YH[??\???[][?]HB?\?H?\?Y\???\?
