St. John’s UCC
The work of the church...
Merry Christmas, or is it?
Christmas is fast approaching, and we know for some
families this is not always a
joyful time of year. The
North Cedar Clergy is
once again sponsoring the
Christmas Bell Program.
“If you’re feeling
especially
blessed and are
able share, you
will make
someone’s
Christmas a little
brighter.”
If this is a trying time for
your family, help is available. Gifts will be provided
for school-age and younger
children, and holiday food
baskets will be given to
families in need.
If you’re feeling especially
blessed and are able, share,
you will make someone’s
Christmas a little brighter.
Donations of cash and gifts
will be received soon.
Please watch for the mailing from the North Cedar
Clergy. Details of this program are given in the mailing. If you need help, or
are willing to help, we are
here. Thank you in ad-
vance for your participation.
The food pantry at St.
John’s is open every
Wednesday from 5:30-6:30
p.m. Thank you to all who
have made recent donations, of cash or food items.
Your generosity is appreciated. The usage of the pantry has increased, and it
truly does take a caring
community for the operation of this important mission. Thank you, Clarence.
Our first through seventh
grade Wednesday after
school program will be held
on November 6th and 20th
from 3:30-5:30. Thank you
to all who support this mission and ministry of our
church. We’ve moved the
mission of this program to
a new level this year, as the
kids are actively participating in Heifer International
which provides tangible
gifts to families in need.
We have just exceeded the
goal of purchasing our first
sheep! We raised enough
money in coins and pop
cans to not only purchase a
sheep, but also a trio of
rabbits and three flocks of
chicks. Congratulations on
a job well done, kids!
Sunday morning worship at
St. John’s is at 10:15, followed by fellowship. Sunday Scho ol begins at 9:00
a.m. Everyone is welcome!
Please take time in the
month ahead to count your
blessings, recognize your
importance, and strive to
make this world a better
place. Promote peace.
Share. Take care of one
another and yourselves.
I’m thankful.
