Let’s Get Healthy Together
By Laurie Jewell
Clarence Senior Living Wellness Program
Casual conversation between
Laurie Jewell, Asst. Administrator and Sara Otten, Physical
Therapist at Clarence Senior
Living on how we could play a
part in promoting health and
exercise in the community has
turned into reality with the
start of the exercise program
called, “Let’s Get Healthy Together”. The initial exercise
program, Sara explained
proper/safe exercising. Following this class, Sara led the very
first exercise session. The class
of 15 ladies was asked if they
would like to meet weekly and
exercise as a group and there
was an overwhelming response
of “YES!”
Our exercise program is designed to improve posture, abdominal and core exercises that
over time can correct posture,
correct muscular imbalance and
reduce chronic back pain.
Strong muscles protect weakened joints!
Every Thursday, Laurie Jewell
now leads the group of ladies in
exercises that Sara has mapped
out. We
find that it
is much
more fun
to exercise
as a group
than alone.
At 9:00
a.m. you
will hear
music playing, ladies
laughing
and Laurie
giving instruction.
If you look
in at the
group, you’ll find some very
determined ladies working to
stay healthy! Those ladies from
the community who are participating ages range from 60
something to over 90!
it is much
more fun to
exercise as a

sionals allows us the opportunity to educate the public. This
is our way of sharing the wealth
of information that we have
here with others.
This exercise program is free.
