The sniper- A Prequel
Rationale
In the English classes we watched a movie called In the name of the father directed by Jim Sheridan, which was about an Irish family in Dublin that was sent to prison charged with terrorism because the English government wanted to blame them for being part of the IRA. We also read a short story called The Sniper by Liam O’Flaherty which recreates the moment when an IRA sniper that is in the middle of the war is firing against an enemy sniper.
On this diary entry we wanted to make a prequel to the short story written in first person about what the war was like and how the sniper gets into this civil war. A diary entry will allow us to express the sniper’s feelings and emotions. We tried to make it similar to a warlike story because we thought that it would be more attractive to the reader. We also
