TAYLOR RICHARDSON

Meeting and building relationships with other youth advocates is one of my favorite factors of my job. It's a great feeling, knowing that we will change the world for the better. I contribute to my community by highlighting the amazing things other young girls and women are doing in the STEM fields and explaining to allies how they can help support those groups on their STEM journey. I’ve run a successful book drive in my community called Taylor’s Take Flight, raised over one hundred thousand dollars for young people to see STEM related movies, and was a featured speaker at the IBM Think Conference 2019.

My main purpose for bringing light to the inadequacy of variety is due to my want for others who look like me and who have had similar experiences of struggle to feel welcome in the industry they aspire to be apart of. Inspiring others to continue working towards a dream others told wouldn’t become a reality due to the pigment of their skin is an ambition of mine.
