On September 23rd, in celebration of the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival, the team at the Confucius Institute at CSU set up a tent on the plaza of the Lory Student Center for a Moon Cake Giveaway. CICSU shared 500 moon cakes with students, faculty, and friends who were passing by. Moon cakes are a traditional snack that are enjoyed during the Mid-Autumn Festival. Usually, flat and round in shape, moon cakes are made with a thin soft crust and filled with sweet red bean, mung bean, or lotus nut paste. Traditionally, moon cakes would have an egg yolk in the center, when cut in half it resembles the full moon.

9月23日,科罗拉多州立大学学生中心大门前广场被装饰一新,红灯笼、中国结、栩栩如生的中秋卡通画作、琳琅满目的中国元素再次让各国学生眼前一亮。路过的行人纷纷驻足,希望了解中国传统佳节的故事和孔子学院文化。孔院青年教师扮演的熊猫、嫦娥更是吸引了众多学生前来合影。当天,孔院全体工作人员现场发放了五百个月饼,大家品尝后纷纷赞不绝口。
