Club General Manager Manu Jenkin
In spite of a cold and wet evening, our Soirée
Française was un grand succès with a great
turnout of over 70 members. Many of them fully
embraced the theme, wearing Breton stripes
and berets!
Our accordion and violin duo serenaded us
beautifully, with the music gradually getting
more upbeat as the evening went on. Les plus
courageux got up and performed a very
stylised version of the CanCan.
Andy and his team had put on a delicieux
French themed Specials menu which earned
many ‘Oo La Las’ (Dixit Emily).
No sooner had the Bleu/Blanc/rouge
decorations come down than Emily, Jenna and
the rest of the team turned their attention and
skills onto decorating the Club for the festive
season. Do come and see for yourselves. I am
sure you will agree they have done a fantastic
job and the Club looks fabulous.
Although we have moved onto winter hours,
the bar and restaurant are open all seven days
a week and food is served from 12 till 5pm and
again from 6pm till 8pm. So you can pop in at
any time to enjoy the festive décor while
sampling something from our new menus, have
afternoon tea, read the papers or simply enjoy
our Wifi.
If you can’t wait for lunch until Christmas Day,
look out for our Christmas Ladies Lunch on
December 13th and our Christmas carvery on
December 17th. There will be turkey with all the
trimmings and plenty more.
As is usual, the Club will be closed from
December 24th through to December 28th. We
will all be back on December 29th, with our
attention focused on preparing a fantastic New
Year’s Eve Party.
Tickets are selling fast so if
you are thinking of joining us,
I would advise you not to
leave it to the last minute.
You will find details of the
menu in the “From the
Galley” page.
