The month of July saw more staff returning from furlough and more members returning to the Club, the bar and restaurant
which re-opened on July 4th. It’s a “new normal” but according to feedback from members in the first few
weeks it’s working well and it won’t take long to get used to!
‘Club immaculately organised, feels safe as houses!’, ‘Food as good as ever, and service excellent.’, ‘Having a fresh pint
delivered to you is a luxury!”
So what are these new normal? Table service is in operation inside the Club (restaurant, quarter deck and
conservatory), if you are sitting outside you need to come in and order your food and drink (we will then deliver it to
you when it is ready). Face coverings are required when moving around the clubhouse. We have restrictions on the
number of people in the toilets and changing rooms. Booking is sensible and preferred, so we can plan arrivals and
seating. Social distancing must be followed Please refer to the website: https://www.cyc.co.uk/off-the-water/covid-19/
for more information about the new normal.
We have been able to expand our
1:1 dinghy coaching with Drew
returning from furlough, our RYA
courses have started in earnest –
albeit with a reduced number of
participants, and Dinghy Week was
very successful. We
are pleased to announce a new
dinghy instructor into our ranks,
congratulations to Katie. Also
congratulations to Lottie and
Amy who both passed their
Dinghy Instructor pre-assessments.
Fair winds and stay safe!
