The CTC is now open to tennis members Yes ! We are finally able to welcome back our tennis members . Of course , there are rules to follow to keep us all safe . But everyone is very excit-

ed to return to tennis and get back in shape . Some of us have not hit a tennis ball in a long time ! The ball machine is getting a lot of use and hopefully as Clackamas County continues to have lower numbers of COVID-19 cases , team tennis and USTA may be in our spring future .
This month , Jennifer Leskovec is our featured board member and Charbonneau resident . Jennifer grew up in Deland , Florida , 20 miles from Daytona

Beach . She attended an Episcopal girls school in Kentucky and graduated from University of Florida in 1963 . Jennifer met her husband in Daytona Beach while teaching school . Ernie and Jennifer lived in Massachusetts , New York , Annapolis and settled in Raleigh , North Carolina after Ernie ’ s 35 years with GE .
Their love of travel took them on many amazing world trips . Jennifer had several part-time jobs , but was mainly a stay-at-home mom for their daughter , Nicole , which she enjoyed very much . She has taught swimming , was a pharmaceuticals rep and recently has designed and marketed her own jewelry line with reps in the South , NY State and the Midwest .
Tennis became part of her life when a neighbor in NY built a court and encouraged her to play in ladders , leagues and occasional tournaments . In 2014 , Jennifer and Ernie decided to move to Oregon to be near their daughter and her family . Finding Charbonneau was the perfect answer , especially for Jennifer . CTC was definitely the magnet .
Welcoming tennis players , wonderful neighbors , an Episcopal church nearby ; all these new friends made Charbonneau a perfect fit . Losing her

Preferred Lies ( winter rules ): Generally , when power carts are restricted to paths only , then Preferred Lies are in effect . Now allowed in the general areas of the course ( i . e . includes fairway and the rough , doesn ’ t include penalty areas ). This rule allows for lifting and

cleaning the ball , then placing it within one club length ( not a putter ) of the original position , no closer to the hole than was the original position .
■ Red penalty areas — All water hazards are red penalty areas .
■ Ball lost or out of bounds — Play a provisional ball . The new local rule ( drop in fairway minus two stroke penalty

) is not in effect for Men ’ s Club play unless otherwise noted for a specific event .
■ Drop zones — During regular Men ’ s Club play or events , drop zones are not to be used . Apply the appropriate Rule of Golf drop method for your situation and then play your next shot .
A penalty of one ( 1 ) shot is accrued .
