Pitch mark repair
With the greens returning to normal condition after the spring aeration , it ’ s now time to make sure we all help to maintain them . So how can we do that ? Simple , repair ball

marks in the greens , not only your own , but others you find . The correct technique to accomplish this is to use a tee or a divot tool to move the grass on the edge of the divot hole toward the center without lifting it and then tap it down level with your putter or shoe . If you want to learn more about this process , take a look at “ Fore The Golfer : How to Repair Ball Marks ” on YouTube at https :// www . youtube . com / watch ? v = myOTf1wuZoA .
Rule of the Month — sprinkler head in line of putt
So your ball is not on the green , but in the first cut ( fringe ) and a sprinkler head is directly in the line of where you want to putt . Do you get relief ?
Under the Rules of Golf , the sprinklers are not considered an “ abnormal condition ” and therefore a player off the green must play over or around the sprinkler heads unless there is a local rule that allows relief . The Men ’ s Club may consider creating a local rule at a future board meeting .
