Solo Sisters finally get together

We ’ re Back ! Solo Sisters finally gathered , for the first time since March 2020 . It felt so good to see and hug friends again . Ok , we didn ’ t hug that much because we ’ re still afraid to , but soon the fear will go away and we ’ ll have one big lovefest ! Twenty-five women streamed into the dining room at Charbonneau Country Club for a welcome back dinner hosted by the Planning Committee . Normally we would have met at a local restaurant for happy hour . But with rules regarding social gatherings changing frequently , and as we wait for more people to become vaccinated , we have decided to forgo happy hours at local restaurants for the next few months . We will hold events at Charbonneau Country Club for now .
Many people helped to make this event a success . Thank you to Cricket Brazelton , Vik Koach , Linda Wanless and Ann Elsenbach for all your help . We started the night with an ice breaker game . Construction begins on Activity Center

The project will be complete in early 2022

The building permit from the city of Wilsonville was issued Monday , May 17 . The team at R & H Construction was already set and ready to go . Construction began the next morning . In total , the project will require close to a dozen different permits and approvals for excavation , electrical , landscaping , sewer and others . While most of the permits are in hand , the others will be obtained through individual subcontractors .

According to Chris Hedger , project manager for R & H Construction , there will be over 40 different subcontractors on the project . The Portland-based company has been working with Charbonneau since 2016 , even before we purchased the old restaurant building .
Their input and professional advice has been deeply appreciated by the task force and the board of directors . Now , with construction underway , Chris has set up shop in the basement of the clubhouse where he will oversee the project .
As we enter this phase , Hedger wanted to remind the community that this is a construction site with associated cautions . There will be heavy equipment , materials and up to 60 people at a time on site . Although the perimeter of the area is fenced , much of the current parking lot in front of the site is also being used . Parking for the working crews will extend down to the lower lot . He

urges people to use alternative methods , such as golf carts or simply walking since parking at the Village Center will be even more limited . You may also notice a fence around some of the trees next to the site . This was a requirement from the city as an added precaution for their protection .
When discussing the large increase in material costs and whether or not it would have been prudent to wait a while , Hedger pointed out that the biggest cost of the project is labor and those costs are sure to rise in the coming months . Gambling that lumber and other materials will come down in price in the near future would not have been prudent . In addition , many of the permits and bids
