Can you believe that one half of 2021 has passed already ? I ’ m still remiss in remembering what day it is . It must be a carryover from last
VEDDER year when we were living in isolation and it didn ’ t matter what day it was anyway !
Our theme this month is “ Independence ” ( for the Fourth of July ) and just the word conveys so many meanings . When we grow up and leave the family home , we are gaining our independence , for instance . Then , when we begin to age , many of us will enter independent living . In between all that , we grow to depend on others for our health , happiness and well-being .
The Sunshine Service that Charbonneau offers is here to assure everyone has access to equipment they might need during a health setback . I

� From Page 8 see a large variety of needs from broken ankles , to knee replacements , and myriad things in between ! The need to regain our independence is fierce ! Please feel free to call any of the volunteers listed in your Charbonneau Directory if the time comes that you need to borrow an item to get you up and around once more . We usually have a good stock of wheelchairs , walkers , toilet / shower items and a lot of in between stuff as well . If for some reason we do not have what you need , we will try to guide you as to where you might rent , or purchase , the items you require .
We are strictly a “ loan ” entity and ask that you please return the items when you feel secure again . There have been times when we get down to just one or two of a certain item because borrowers have kept things a wee bit too long ? No need to reserve things but do call if you know you are going to have surgery in the near future . That way we can have everything in place at your home .
I wish for you a summer to beat all summers ! Stay well , enjoy your gardens , spend time with friends and family .

Our May gathering was a huge success as new members were greeted by returning members and hopefully new friendships were started . Over the next couple of months , we will hold a Bunco Night and a Wine Tasting Party . If you are a single woman living in Charbonneau and would like to join in the fun of being a Solo Sister , please send your contact information to Deanna Morgan at deannamorgan @ gmail . com and you will be added to our roster . that were acquired would have expired , causing even further delays and even more costs .
The design team at Access Architecture , working with the task force , is fully confident that we have done everything feasible to control costs and keep the project within the budget , which was passed by the board .
Scheduled completion is set for early 2022 . As we move forward with the building , look for updates on the CCC website .
