Forum . Eta Omega chapter ’ s membership ,
Centennial Chapters
Eta OMEGA LOUISVILLE , KY On May 6 , 1922 , six phenomenal women became the charter members of Eta Omega chapter . Eta Omega is the first Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority , Incorporated ® chapter to charter in the Louisville , Kentucky metro area . The dynamic women who brought Eta Omega into fruition were Maude Brown ( Porter ), M . Ethel Jackson ( Coffman ), Marinda Buckner Robinson , Marguerite Parks ( Norell ), Hazel Crice , and Bessie Baker Willis . Together , they sought a vision fair and laid a solid foundation of service to all mankind to impact the citizens of Louisville .
Since its inception , Eta Omega chapter has been proactive , productive , and visible - positively impacting children , students and families through initiatives such as the Plymouth Raffle , Little Miss AKA Cotillion , Minority Educators Symposium , and the Kentucky Education Reform Act ( KERA ) Parent
A CONFIDENT AND CAPTIVATING REGION
Forum . Eta Omega chapter ’ s membership , comprised of distinguished women who boast excellent academic achievements and proven leadership skills , is involved in the global community through advocacy and service . Over the years , Eta Omega members have been seen standing up for social justice , driving for health equity , and advancing educational enrichment . They read to children in need ; mentor , sponsor and show up for middle school girls ; provide winter coats for families and educate their community about the need to vote .
Eta Omega chapter celebrates this monumental occasion under the leadership of their Centennial Basileus , Lynetta Crawford , and looks forward to Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood for centuries .
