From its earliest days , the Pike Road community has been known for its spirit of hospitality . More than two decades of incredible growth after incorporation , the Town of Pike Road ’ s citizens continue this legacy through community engagement , connecting with one another and collaborating to serve neighbors in need .
Over the summer , the Town of Pike Road ’ s P . R . A . Y . E . R . ( Pike Road Area Your Emergency Response ) Team designed and implemented a program to provide nutritional assistance to hundreds of families whose children face food insecurity during the summer months . The P . R . A . Y . E . R . Team , an ENHANCE initiative committee , facilitates connection and collaboration among local churches to meet the needs – physical and spiritual – of the Pike Road community . With participation from over a dozen faith organizations , the Summer Feeding Program ensured that over 600 local youth would not go hungry this summer when school meals were not available . This endeavor has had an immeasurable impact on the Town of Pike Road , embodying the warm , welcoming spirit of the Pike Road community — past and present .
It has always been the people of Pike Road who make it such a special place to call home , and while so much has changed for the Town in its 25 years , its citizens remain warm , hospitable and eager to engage with new neighbors and old friends . All it takes is lunch at a local restaurant or a stop by one of the Town ’ s locally-owned boutiques to see that the Town ’ s motto , “ Welcome Home ,” is really a way of life .
Creating Opportunity
With a vibrant combination of tradition , hospitality and opportunity , the Town of Pike Road has been named the fastest-growing municipality in Alabama for two decades . A focus on planning for sustainability has helped the Town welcome nearly 10,000 residents and businesses . These businesses range in size from entrepreneurial start-ups and home-based initiatives to a new Publix Supermarket . It has and continues to be the Town ’ s goal to maintain its hometown character . The Town ’ s four pillars ( planning , services , education and quality of life ) serve as the foundation for progress , allowing the community to benefit from efficient services and an excellent public school system .
