Royal Court
The Dowling Catholic Fine Arts Department
presented Madrigal Dinners at St. Francis of Assisi
Church in West Des Moines on Friday, January 10
and Saturday, January 11. A Madrigal Dinner is an
American form of dinner theater and a treasured
tradition at DCHS.
Members of the royal court were: Front row L to R,

Dowling Catholic A Capella Choir To Perform at Carnegie Hall
The 136 member Dowling Catholic A Capella Choir
will join with college and high school choirs from
California, Florida, Maryland and Arizona for a
one-night performance of Mozart’s Coronation
Mass at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
Dowling Choir Director Karl Rohwer is excited for the
Dowling choral students to be able to participate in
this unique and educational experience. Students will
have the opportunity to perform with premiere

college and high school choirs from across the
country on the main stage of historic Carnegie Hall.
The choir will spend April 3-7 in New York City.
They will visit favorite tourist sites, rehearse 4 hours a
day for the performance and see a Broadway musical,
among other exciting activities. Students spent several
months fundraising to help defray trip expenses.
