Career Fair Brings Recruits to Campus
CDU Career Services hosted a career fair on campus in April . The event , which took place in the Student Center Lounge , drew multitudes of CDU students , some of whom arrived dressed sharply for potential interviews .
Around 25 healthcare companies were present to recruit students to organizations such as APLA Health , UCLA Health , Maxim Healthcare Services , AIDS Healthcare Foundation , Community Clinic Association of Los Angeles , Stem to the Future , and more .
“ To prepare , I read the email to see some of the different organizations that would be here and I noticed some of the organizations like UCLA Health and LA County , which are definitely some organizations that I would love to work for ,” said Kristin Hildreth , Master of Public Health Program student . “ I feel like it was a successful day . I can go home and look up different opportunities that I heard about .”
As a graduating student in the Master of Public Health program , the Career Fair proved to be a great opportunity for Kristin to speak with representatives and learn about entry level positions in the field of public health .
“ During the year we work on professional development , students attend workshops , and we work on preparing them for the transition from education into the workforce ,” shared Allison Yi , Career Advisor . “ This event is an opportunity for students to exercise those skills and get employed , get internships for
the summer , do their volunteer hours , and build a network by the time they graduate .”
The Career and Internship Fair is one of the biggest events hosted by Career Services . To further participation , students were encouraged to visit at least five booths and complete a survey to be entered into a raffle to win an Amazon or Target gift card .
Career Services is committed to helping students and alumni achieve their professional career goals through resources , essential information , and support . Students and alumni are strongly encouraged to make an appointment with the Career Advisor regarding any careerrelated matters . The Career Services office is located in the Student Center .
